Hunter Safety Certification Class at the Ely Legion

The coaches from the Ely American Legion Basic Marksmanship class would like to provide our local community with an opportunity to take the Iowa DNR Hunter Education class locally.  On January 13 and 14th the Ely American Legion will host this class.  Sign up now.  Limited seating (25) available and there is no cost to you.  The Linn County Pheasants Forever will be paying for the lunch for the class on Saturday.

The class will be Jan 13 & 14: (NOTE THAT attendance on both days is required to obtain a Hunter Safety Certificate) 

January 13, 2018: (Saturday) is classroom instruction: From 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.   (LOCATION: ELY AMERICAN LEGION) 

January 14, 2018: (Sunday) is the “hunter’s walk class” From 12:00 noon until all students complete the hunters walk and certificates are handed out. (Class duration is dependent upon students the Sunday class would take ~3 hours) (LOCATION: ELY AMERICAN LEGION, but if weather is conducive, this may change to be at the HAWKEYE WILDLIFE AREA)

Ely American Legion Oratorical Contest

The Ely American Legion is seeking candidates interested in participating in the annual American Legion Oratorical Contest.  The contest is open to all students in grades 9-12.  See attached form for more information.

December Bags is Coming Up!

Get ready once again to toss bags at the Ely Legion. Saturday, December 16 is the next cornhole tourney. Come have fun even if you have never played before. We draw teams so it is a great way to meet people. Doors open at 6:30 pm and game play starts at 7:00.
