The Ely American Legion and the Ely Sons of the American Legion will be conducting a Flag Retirement Ceremony on 8 June 2017 at 7:00 PM. The event will be held at the Ely American Legion Hall. The public is invited to bring any American Flags that may require disposal and are invited to witness the ceremony. There will be an open house at the legion after the ceremonyShare

On April 22, 2017 the Ely Legion will begin hosting ballroom dancing lessons along with ongoing social dances. The program will be offered in partnership with the Iowa Corridor chapter of USA Dance, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization comprised of more than 150 chapters throughout the United States.
At each event, USA Dance will offer be a dance lesson followed by a social dance. Dance lessons will include a mix of American smooth (Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango); American rhythm (Rumba, Swing, Cha Cha); Club (Night Club Two Step, Hustle, Sala).
We hope you will join us, socialize with neighbors and enjoy fun and benefits of ballroom dancing.

The first Sunday in April is almost here and that means it is time for the Ely American Legion Annual Pancake breakfast. Make plans for us to serve you breakfast and bring your friends and neighbors too. Tickets are always available at the door or from any Ely Legion member.
As always, the traditional menu will be served: eggs, pancakes, potatoes, sausage, ham, coffee, juice, and milk.
Children (5 to 12) $4.00
Kids under five eat free!
