The Ely American Legion is sponsoring the 5th Grade Flag Essay Contest. The 5th Grade Flag Essay Contest will help youth develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of the United States flag and teach proper etiquette and respect for the flag. All local 5th graders are encouraged to submit entries. The local 1st place winner will receive a $20 cash prize and will have their entry forwarded for District and State level competition. The local 2nd place winner will receive a $10 cash prize. Entry forms are available on our website and at the Ely Public Library. Entries must be received by 1 December 2017.
